At the annual meeting of Forest Town Community Council, Phyllis Gregson and Jim Gregson received gifts after retiring from long-standing positions they held for the past 18 years.
Phyllis was secretary, while Jim had been vice-chair before becoming chair.
They were presented with a book of photographs, a floral plant display, and bottles of wine as a thank you for their many years of service to Forest Town.
This included supporting the village market that was once held in Kingsway Hall, Remembrance Day services, and the organising of the Christmas lights.
Claire Smith was elected as the new chair, while a new secretary is still required. Andrew Hamilton is continuing as treasurer.
The council meets on the third Tuesday of each month in Forest Town Arena at 7.15pm. Anyone with an interest in Forest Town is welcome to attend.
