Staff at Academy Transformation Trust Further Education, based at Sutton Community Academy, decided to offer support to St Mary’s Food Bank, Sutton, instead of sending Christmas cards to each other.

The academy works with many local organisations and people from the surrounding community. A spokesman said the food bank played an important role within the community and it seemed the perfect organisation to support.

Staff donated food and wrote their festive wishes to each other, which were hung on the Academy Christmas tree, instead of writing cards.
