IS it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Phil Constantine, of Mansfield firm Atmospheric Interiors, who raised £1,100 for Portland College’s £2m appeal for an inclusive sports academy by travelling at 100mph on a zip wire.
Phil did his sponsored challenge at Zip World Velocity, Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda, North Wales, a dramatic setting. He flew at 600ft over a deep blue lake, which is 600ft deep, as he reached speeds of 100mph after accelerating from 0–60mph in two seconds.
Phil said: “It was a great experience, especially with the thought of £,1100 resting on my shoulders for a great cause. I would recommend anyone to get up and have a go.”
