Florist grows help for others both at home and overseas

Newstead-based online florist Bunches has released emergency relief funds to help feed more than 290,000 people in coronavirus-ravaged India through its Make A Difference campaign.

The family-run florist donated funds through its charity partners, Links International and Love the One, to provide medical care, food and sanitation.

Bunches has an ongoing commitment to donate a minimum of 10 per cent of profits to charitable projects, both in the UK and abroad, through its selection of letterbox flowers, house plants and hand tied bouquets.

Dani Turner, customer experience director, said: “We aim to help people in need as much as we can, to create something positive and help make a difference to those who need it most.”

In another initiative to help create something positive, Bunches donated 450 packets of sunflower seeds to Newstead Village, teaming up with Gedling Borough Council to hand deliver the seeds as part of the Newstead Garden Competition.

Dani added: “We are committed to not only making a difference across the world, but also in the local community. Even the smallest acts means so much to us and we hope the seeds can help brighten up gardens and help put a smile on people’s faces after a challenging year for all.”
