Fire museum needs your help to improve visitors’ experience

Posted onPosted on 2nd Apr

Mansfield Fire Museum is appealing for help from businesses and individuals.

Based at the town’s fire station, the registered charity, which is run by volunteers, hosts visits from schools, organisations, and interested people.

Now the museum, owned by Mansfield Fire Station Preservation Society Trust and supported by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, needs help to renovate its reception area.

A spokesperson said: “We’re working to create a more immersive experience for our visitors, with large display boards showcasing historic and modern photographs of Mansfield and Nottinghamshire’s firefighting legacy.

“Your sponsorship would help to bring these powerful images and words to life, and make our museum even more welcoming to the community.”

Anyone wanting to sponsor the renovation plans should email [email protected]

Groups interested in visiting the museum are asked to give at least one week’s notice because it is open by appointment only. Visitors are also asked to make a donation. For further details, go to www.mansfieldfiremuseum.org.uk

The museum’s volunteers have recently been busy hosting joint visits to the museum and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Mansfield Fire Station, as well as working on exhibits, cleaning, and creating the new appliance bay display area.
