A health care assistant says she has rediscovered her identity after losing three stones with Weight Watchers.
Natalie Dean (right) put on weight during lockdown and then a further four stones during the pregnancy of her third child.
“After having my son, I didn’t recognise myself,” she said. “I didn’t know how to dress my shape and would wear mumsy, untrendy clothes.
“As soon as I had my son, I knew enough was enough. I needed to do something for myself. I wasn’t happy in myself, I wasn’t fit for my children, and my mental health had taken a dip.
“So I joined Weight Watchers and never looked back.”
Natalie, who attends the Ollerton class run by Kate Palmer, started running and soon began completing 5k runs three times a week.
She said her overall wellness had also improved since joining Weight Watchers.
“I had low iron, low vitamin D before I started and now those levels are normal. I couldn’t run to the bus stop, let alone running 5ks that I know enjoy doing,” Natalie added.
“And, most importantly, my mental health has to be the most positive aspect. I am back to my bubbly, happy self with less worries.”
Now wearing dress size 12 after being in a size 18, she explained: “I signed up online to Weight Watchers because at the time that was the only option due to covid.
“Then I started the Ollerton class as soon as it was possible. My coach, Kate, is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t gave done it without her and our lovely class.
“From the start I found Weight Watchers so easy to track, even with three small children. I cooked meals that we could all sit down as a family to eat.
“I didn’t cut carbs or eat less. I just ate healthy foods and had great fun with it.
“I tracked, tracked, and tracked. I went to my meeting every week for support, took up running, and he support from my instructor and my class gave the support and confidence I needed to lose weight.
“I feel fabulous. Looking in the mirror I like what I see — all my hard work was worth it.”
