Ravenshead u3a will be celebrating the national u3a Week with a Coffee Morning Meet and Greet Event on Saturday, 23rd September.

Members and guests are invited to drop-in for a chat, free refreshments, and the chance to see displays about the u3a’s activity and interest groups, at The Centre at St Peter’s Church, Ravenshead, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Regular monthly meetings take place on the second Tuesday of the month at the church.

The keynote speaker on Tuesday, 12th September, will be Vince Eager, a skiffle and pop singer from the 1950s and 60s, whose presentation is titled You’re Never Too Old To Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

With nearly 400 members, Ravenshead u3a provides educational and sociable activities for older people, and also those who are younger and have time to take part.

There are more than 40 activity and interest groups, run by members. Groups cover a wide range of subjects, from gardening, walking, pickleball, and salsa dancing to wine, cookery and food, photography, writing for fun, and more.

Day trips are organised each month to educational, cultural, and social venues of interest within a 50-mile radius of Ravenshead, using the 14-seater Ravenshead Community Transport mini coaches.
