Films highlight Ashfield’s past

Posted onPosted on 3rd Feb

A series of short films about historical figures from Ashfield’s past is being created as part of Ashfield Art Trail.

So far people can watch the films and listen to stories told by William, Duke of Portland, Ada Lovelace, and a medieval Kirkby local on Ashfield District Council’s YouTube channel.

The films — commissioned by the council with Discover Ashfield — can also be viewed by scanning QR codes on boards at Mill Waters Café at King’s Mill Reservoir, Sutton; next to the Ada Lovelace plaque on Hucknall High Street; and on railings at Kirkby Plaza.

The creator of Ashfield Art Fest 2021, Claire Finn, has written and produced the videos, filmed by Ashfield videographer Tom Cable.

A further five films are planned.
