Famous faces including Merrill Osmond, the American Four Tops and Shaun Ryder take to the Palace Theatre stage in October in Mansfield.

From local dance companies to Halloween film screenings and everything in between, there is something for everyone coming up in the next month.

Merrill Osmond will perform all the big hits from The Osmonds on Wednesday 5 October, as well as talking of his experiences of growing up within one of the world’s biggest bands.

Shaun Ryder is a singer, songwriter, television personality and author. As the lead singer of the Happy Mondays, he was a leading figure in the Manchester cultural scene in the late 1980s, before forming Black Grape in 1993. More recently, you may recognise Shaun from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here where he came runner-up, or Celebrity Gogglebox.

He will be at the Palace on Wednesday 19 October to discuss his life, career, and the music industry.

Other familiar faces from TV at the theatre in October are Psychic Sally (Wednesday 12) and Joe Rooney, who presents A Celebration of Father Ted on Sunday 16. Joe featured as the rebellious Father Damo in the classic Father Ted episode The Old Grey Whistle Theft, leading Dougal astray with his earring, cigarette smoking and bad-boy attitude.

Joe will host a screening of the episode, take you behind the scenes and set you a Craggy Island quiz ­– then prepare yourself for an all-inclusive Lovely Girls Competition. There will also be priests aplenty, plus appearances from a nursery-rhyme singing Ziggy Stardust, Nirvana, Johnny Cash and more.

Tribute shows continue a mixture of returning favourites such as Steve Steinman’s Anything for Love (Saturday 22) and Thank You For The Music (Saturday 29) plus new shows including An Evening Without Kate Bush (one for the Stranger Things fans) on Thursday 6 October, fresh from five star reviews at the recent Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Frankie celebrates the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on Sunday 2 October, followed by The Sound of Springsteen (Tuesday 4), Jive Talkin’ perform the Bee Gees (Saturday 8), Genesis Connected (Friday 14), The Stones (Thursday 20), Buddy Holly – A Legend Reborn (Friday 21), The Elvis Years (Sunday 23), Lost in Music 70s disco show (Thursday 27) and One Night of Queen from Gary Mullen and the Works (Friday 28).

The hardest swinging big band in the UK recreates the million sellers of the 40s and 50s on Friday 7 October with The Glenn Miller and Big Band Spectacular. The show includes all of the music that filled the dancehalls during the Big Band era, brought to life by The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK.

Happy Days Aare Here Again on Sunday 30 October is a matinee performance celebrating the best of British with songs from the 1940s to 60s and supporting the Royal British Legion. This patriotic, uplifting show includes well-known songs to sing and tap, clap or hum along with.

If it’s a sassy night out you’re after then Queenz is 100% the night for you on Tuesday 25 October for the trailblazing, life-affirming drag extravaganza taking the UK by storm. Starring X Factor and Union J pop sensation Jaymi Hensley, get ready to singalong to reimagined classics from The Spice Girls, Lady Gaga, Little Mix, Britney, Whitney, and everything in between.

There are spooky film screenings of Hotel Transylvania (18) and The Addams Family (19) for Halloween.
