Exemplar Health Care, which provides specialist nursing care for adults living with complex needs, is creating 20 additional roles at its Sutton home after a significant refurbishment investment.

Over the last 18 months the Eastlands mental health unit has been refurbished to create 10 further bedrooms – and the home is now looking to recruit a new team to help manage the unit.

The care home is recruiting for a variety of roles to start in January 2021, including support workers, senior carers and nurses.

The Eastlands home has been open since 2009 and supports adults who need specialist nursing care and are living with a complex physical disability or mental health condition.

The opening of Eastland’s newest unit will provide a male-only mental health unit in the Ashfield area.

Mercy Gonouya, home manager, said: “We have been working with the local health authorities and have identified the need for a male-only mental health unit in the region, and we’re therefore delighted that we will be opening the unit next month.
