Evie’s legacy lives on

Posted onPosted on 29th Mar

A foundation set up in memory of Clipstone teenager Evie Wilson, who died last year, has helped a further two families in the village.

The Lashes Foundation remembers 13-year-old Evie and aims to support those in need, remembering her kindness to others.

The charity said: “We have been busy reviewing grants here at Lashes HQ. We are delighted to update you that we have provided a grant for a lady who suffered domestic abuse, lived in a refuge for two years and is now moving to a new home. We have helped with essential furniture to allow her to settle into her new home with her children.

Plus we have arranged a treat at a spa for a lady who is suffering a terminal illness and is busy looking after her young children as well as herself.

“Thank you for all of your kind support. This allows us to keep helping others in the local community.”

Last year the foundation was boosted by a major charity football match that saw around 1,000 people watch former Mansfield Town stars take on a Clipstone team.

Evie’s father is Lee Wilson, a former Stags player who is now a popular member of Clipstone Cricket Club.

Lee said the foundation was set up to ensure her name and kindness for others would live on.

He explained it was called the Lashes Foundation because Evie loved fake eyelashes.

“It will help young, old whatever age, whatever their problems,” he added.
