The European Parliamentary Elections are taking place on 22nd May, when five members will be elected for the East Midlands.

Residents who want to vote must be registered. To register, submit a registration form to the Registration Officer at the Civic Centre, Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield NG19 7BH by Tuesday, 6th May.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the officer by Wednesday, 7th May.
Applications to vote by proxy must reach the officer by Wednesday, 14th May.
Residents have one vote to elect all of the members of the European Parliament for the East Midlands region. Each party puts forward a list of candidates called a ‘regional list’ and residents vote for one of these lists, or for an individual candidate standing as an independent.
The number of MEPs that are elected from each party to represent a region depends on the overall share of the vote that party receives.
Electoral Registration Officer for Mansfield Ruth Marlow said: “We do not want people to miss out on the opportunity to vote in the European elections. Registration is simple and our staff are on hand if you have any enquiries. Make sure your vote counts on 22nd May.”
