Ellena takes first steps on Learning Ladder career

Posted onPosted on 7th Sep

Mansfield’s Learning Ladder Childcare has appointed a new apprentice to work at its Oak Tree setting.

Ellena Keigher (16), of Pleasley, has joined after finishing her studies at Shirebrook Academy.

As a new Apprentice Early Years Practitioner, she will be training on the job for her level two, and level three, accreditations.

Amanda Squires, founder of Learning Ladder Childcare, said: “We have had apprentices before and it works really well for us because we can train them in how we do things. They also learn and earn at the same time.

“I’m delighted to welcome Ellena to the team, and look forward to her becoming a real benefit to the children in her care.”

Ellena said: “Becoming an apprentice for me was the best route to take because it means I am learning and earning and am not stuck in a classroom. When I saw this opportunity, it looked absolutely perfect as I have always wanted to go into childcare.”

Learning Ladder is also looking for a new apprentice at its Sherwood East setting in Braemar Road, Forest Town, close to Clipstone.
