Donation shows community can work together

Sutton Inner Wheel has presented Leamington Primary and Nursery School, Sutton, with £500 for new equipment and to plant up a roundabout.

Mrs Judith Holmes, club president, who presented the money, said: “Inner Wheel is about friendship, but also about service. Most of the money we raise goes back to the local community in one way or another.”

Treasurer Mrs Dodo Pearce said they enjoyed their visit to the school.

“It’s a wonderful school, very calm and orderly,” she said.

Head Emma Hanson said: “At Leamington, our key values are ‘Aspire, Achieve and Contribute’.

“We encourage our children to contribute — to give back to the school, the community, national charities and global ones — and this donation shows how our fantastic local community can work together and support each other.

“We will use the money to buy outdoor play equipment for our Foundation pupils and to buy plants to transform the roundabout near the school to make it more cheerful for all the community.

“That way we can share Inner Wheel’s good deed beyond our own school gates.”
