Donation is music to school’s ears

Ron Brooks Toyota Mansfield has donated £1,250 towards a music project at Farmilo Primary School, Pleasley.

The Music For All project aims to give children increased development opportunities through the use of musical instruments, with the long-term aim of constructing an outdoor performance area to hold concerts for parents, family and members of the community.

A cheque was presented to head Suzanne Tryner and business manager Linda Priest by Mike Lane, principal of the Ron Brooks centre in Mansfield and Nathan Dale, digital marketing manager and a former pupil of the school.
Mr Lane said: “When Nathan came to me with this proposal I was intrigued to find out more.

“I was impressed with the plans for additional music equipment and an outdoor music area and we immediately sent the proposal off to Toyota GB’s head office.

“We are thrilled to provide the extra funding and we look forward to coming back to see the children perform.’
Linda Priest said: “We are extremely grateful to Ron Brooks Toyota for supporting our school. We have an established choir and having musical instruments added to the performance will make a huge impact.

“We feel that providing a good quality outdoor musical learning resource will help to improve the skills of our young children.

“Our aim is to continue raising funds to install a bandstand. This would bring people together, especially when we put on concerts and invite the community to attend.”

The money has been provided as part of a nationwide scheme by Toyota GB.

The Fund For A Better Tomorrow provides each Toyota centre with the opportunity to apply for funding towards educational, environmental and road safety projects that improve the lives of those in the community.
