Discover Sherwood Forest at Ransom Wood’s Earth Day

Families from Mansfield are being invited to join in with a celebration of our connection with Sherwood Forest and our cultural woodland heritage at Ransom Wood’s Earth Day event on 23rd April.

A registered part of international Earth Day 2016, the event will be a family-friendly fun-packed day with a host of activities and entertainment taking place from noon until 10pm in the middle of 70 acres of Sherwood Forest woodland that. There will be music, activities drum circles and food available as well as local beers and ciders.

The event is being organised by Ransom Wood Estates, owners of Ransom Wood Business Park, Mansfield.

Director of Ransom Wood Estates and keen environmentalist, Charles Cannon, says the Earth Day is about showing another side to the estate and an opportunity for people to connect with their local natural surroundings.

“This will be a day for families from Mansfield to come along and engage in a variety of craft and art-based activities, to learn about woodland skills and to join in with making communal music in the heart of Sherwood Forest,” he said.

“Ransom Wood Business Park is already well recognised for its leading environmental management strategies and policies, our Forever Green Restaurant is popular for wedding receptions but we want to invite people to come and see there is so much more to engage with in the beautiful surrounding environment. We are working in collaboration with Spectrum WASP (We Are Special People) to make sure that our activities and entertainment are suitable for young people on the autism spectrum and we invite all families to join in with the fun.”
