Royal Voluntary Service is looking for community fundraising volunteers in Nottinghamshire

If you’re passionate about supporting local people in need and the NHS, Royal Voluntary Service, the national volunteering charity, would love to hear from you.

The charity is calling for cheerful, enthusiastic fundraising volunteers to help raise vital cash to fund its work in hospitals, at home and in the community. Fundraising volunteers work in many ways including organising collection tins in local shops, schools and businesses, organising fundraising events and activities and asking local businesses to support Royal Voluntary Service as their charity of choice. They also speak at public events, groups and clubs about the charity’s work.

20,000 Royal Voluntary Service volunteers support thousands of people each month, helping make communities stronger and relieving pressure on overstretched public services. They provide companionship to lonely or isolated older people, provide Community Transport and Home Library Services to those unable to get out and about, run social events, activities and lunch clubs in local communities and give practical help at home to people that need it.

In the NHS, volunteers provide exercise classes, activities and companionship for older people in hospital, run hospital shops, cafés, trolley services and welcome desks, and help older patients settle back at home after a hospital stay.

Becoming a Royal Voluntary Service fundraising volunteer is a great way to make new friends, be part of a team and develop your skills and experience while contributing to the local community. Hours are flexible, training is provided and out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. Fundraising volunteers should be friendly and outgoing with good communication skills and be honest and reliable.
