Registered charity Literacy Volunteers is appealing for more volunteers to come forward.

It works one-to-one with children in primary schools to help them develop a love for reading.

A spokesman said: “Enjoy a volunteering role that is transforming the lives of children. Just half a day a week commitment from you can make all the difference in a child’s life. It’s fun for everyone.”
