Coronavirus: Fancy dress postman delivering smiles

Posted onPosted on 3rd Apr

Postman Glen Watson is delivering first-class smiles on his round in Mansfield Woodhouse.

The postie is wearing a different crazy costume each day to cheer his customers and raise money for charity.

Glen, 36, of Clowne, said he wanted to brighten up people’s days amongst all the gloom and doom.

“I’ve decided to start wearing a fancy dress outfit for each day I’m at work to try to bring a bit of happiness to the streets of Mansfield Woodhouse,” he said.

“And hopefully raise some money while I’m at it. Any donations or outfit ideas are appreciated.”

Glen, who is raising money for the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal, is inviting people to suggest costumes for him to wear.

He added: “As a postman I was missing the morning chats, smiles, and jokes I have with people on my round.

“I have had people clapping me, little kids waving out of their windows and looking for me, people walking their dogs bursting out laughing and smiling. It’s been brilliant.”
