From Monday, 30th March, Mansfield District Council said it would no longer be emptying garden waste brown bins.

A statement said: “This is to protect our staff and sustain critical services for the long-term.

“We will no longer be collecting garden waste (brown bin) to allow our resources to be concentrated on the collection of household (green bin) and recycling waste (blue bin). Please don’t put garden waste in your green or blue bin.

“At this time we are not accepting new sign-ups to the garden waste service. We will review the service later this year along with payments that have already been made.”
