Family-owned construction company Taggart Homes has reaffirmed its support for transatlantic rowers George Nelson and Russ Davis.
The brothers-in-law will set off on 1st December from Sagres in Portugal and expect to spend around 90 days at sea, rowing unsupported to the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten.
They will be raising money for Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir, and Ladybrook Enterprise’s Help at Hand charities, which will use it to improve local dementia services.
Currently constructing Kings Wood on Skegby Lane, Mansfield, Taggart Homes is sponsoring one of the oars of Team Oar Blimey.
Julie Whitehouse, sales manager of Taggart Homes Southern Region, was recently invited to Our Dementia Choir rehearsals, one of which was a Halloween-themed event where Taggart Homes donated raffle prizes for fundraising.
The Oar Blimey team are aiming to raise £250,000 to help people live with dementia.
Nick Taggart, director of Taggart Homes said: “Taggart Homes is delighted and proud to be involved with this challenge and to show our support to the local and wider community.
“We wish both George and Russell the very best and will be following them on their journey”.
