Company’s support for fun day

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey East Midlands sponsored the Rainworth Community Family Fun Day and Music Festival a boost by sponsoring the event.

The developer, which is preparing to build 160 new homes on land off Warsop Lane, Rainworth, donated £1,000, which was used to buy raffle prizes and cover some of the costs.

Ian Randall, one of the organisers, said: “We are grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their donation, which gave a boost to our huge charity raffle and the event as a whole.

“The money they helped us raise will be distributed between the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and local children’s charities.”

The event was held at Rainworth Miners’ Welfare football ground. Attractions included a charity football match, penalty shoot-out, bouncy castles, fun fair rides, tug-of-war competition, face painting, children’s games, craft and food stalls, fire engine visit, a Victoria sponge cake competition, plus local bands and musicians.

Lucie Grundy, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes.

“We look forward to continuing to develop links with local people and organisations in Rainworth as our new development takes shape.”
