Community hero is award finalist

A Blidworth charity employee for Jerry Green Dog Rescue (Mansfield) has been named as a finalist in the employee of the year category at the 2025 Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards.

Bethany Stukins said: “To be nominated for this award, let alone becoming a finalist, was a very emotional moment for me.
“Having recognition for the hard work, both physical and emotional, that working in animal charity brings means the absolute world to me.

“Opening up my home to welcome many foster rescue dogs has given them the best chance possible. I hope to continue to help animals and people with Jerry Green Dog Rescue for many more years to come.”

Celebrating its 13th year, the awards, held in collaboration with the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH), highlight the contributions of animal charities and non-profit organisations throughout the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands.
Featuring three categories covering volunteers, teams, and employees, the awards will be held on 8th May in Telford, hosted by television presenter Fern Britton.

Petplan director of trading Jo Maclennan added: “Our partnership with over 1,200 animal charities allows us to see the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers who do so much to help the animals in their care.”
