A scheme that helps people to develop schemes to boost their communities is on course to complete 25 projects this financial year – an increase of 12.
Launched in 2013, the Supporting Local Communities (SLC) fund replaced the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) at Nottinghamshire County Council.
It helps residents deliver projects that offer environmental, economic and community benefits to their local areas.
The SLC fund has £500,000 at its disposal and supports a range of community-based schemes, from improving play parks to new allotment sites or a bandstand refurbishment. Successful applicants could receive as much as £50,000.
Schemes already being helped this year include improvements to the coal garden at Teversal Trail Visitor Centre.
