Traders are being advised to book soon if they want to be in with a chance of getting a stall at the Christmas Markets in Mansfield.
The special Sunday markets and one late-night market, which will include regular traders and craft traders, are being run in December and will include free street entertainment to deliver some extra festive cheer to shoppers.
Mansfield District Council is especially interested to hear from traders who sell handmade and baked items, Christmas toys, unusual lines, and items that are not currently sold on the market.
Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services Cllr Stewart Rickersey said: “Christmas markets are likely to attract a lot of extra shoppers and we hope that local traders will want to take advantage of these opportunities. But they will need to hurry as stalls are being booked right now.”
The first Christmas market is on Sunday 6 December with stalls and street entertainment in Westgate.
From 11am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm, Mansfield Hospital Theatre Troupe will perform songs from their upcoming pantomime “Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood”. They will also be performing Christmas sketches and singing carols.
From 1pm to 2pm the Forest Singers, a mixed choir, will be performing carols and modern music.
On Sunday 13 December the entertainment will be provided by the five-piece May Pole Good Time Band, from Nottinghamshire, who will play songs from a variety of musical styles, from midday to 3pm.
The entertainment on Sunday 20 December will be acoustic numbers performed by students from the Ghost Academy of Performing Arts in Mansfield.
And the late-night market on Thursday, 17 December will see local Guide troupes singing carols from 6pm.
Stalls on the markets cost £15 to £20. Get in touch with Nicola Harvey at [email protected] or call 01623 463818 to book.
