Mansfield’s Christmas lights switch-on event is on Sunday, 16 November in the town centre between 12noon and 5pm.
To mark the announcement of the date this year, a piece of chalk art was created in front of the Old Town Hall in Mansfield Market Place.
This year’s event is set to be another festive extravaganza with lots of free entertainment for all the family throughout the day in the town centre. This will be followed by a spectacular stage show.
There will be guest appearances at intervals from children’s television favourite Mike the Knight.
This traditional event marks the start of late-night shopping in Mansfield town centre which begins on Thursday, 20 November.
The event is organised by the Christmas Lights Committee, which includes Mansfield District Council, Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield 103.2, Mansfield BID and the Chad and our supporting partners 6 five 2s Taxis.
Executive Mayor Tony Egginton said: “Don’t miss the opportunity to see Santa and join in the countdown to the launch of this year’s Christmas lights display. It’s guaranteed to get you and the family into the seasonal spirit.”
