Two charities have received cheques for £2,100 each thanks to Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir.
Its 80th anniversary celebrations included a concert in Southwell Minster, featuring three other male voice choirs — Eastwood Collieries, Bestwood, and St Edmundsbury — and Ravenshead Swing Band.
The money was presented to Hetty’s and Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes just before Christmas.
The concert in front of an audience of more than 450 raised £1,631.41 for each of the causes. They also shared the proceeds of a raffle at the event, a further £957.
Pictured are choir chairman Geoff Hursthouse (pictured left in both photographs) and president David Marriott presenting cheques to Carl Foulstone and John McFadden, of Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes (below), and Tracey Crosby, of Hetty’s, (above) at the choir’s rehearsal for a Christmas concert at St Philip Neri Church, Mansfield.
