Chef creates videos on how to make healthy meals for less than 50p

An Annesley Woodhouse chef is filming cooking videos during the second coronavirus lockdown to show people how to batch cook and make large quantities of meals for very little.

David Marshall is head chef of The Porterhouse By Barlows, which has had to close in line with new government restrictions.

He said: “This will hopefully help families to cut their shopping bill and stock up the freezer with nice home cooked meals.”

He is donating all the meals he creates on the Facebook videos “to help people who are suffering and most vulnerable during these horrible times”.

David added: “I will be making three cooking videos a week, which will be a step by step follow along guide on how to cook nice tasty meals for your family at big volume, so you can portion the meals individually and freeze them for later on.

“The meals will cost less than 50p a portion and I will guide you on all steps from where to buy / how to cook/ and how to store them safely.

“Every time I do a video I will be making between 10-20 portions of each meal and I will be donating the meals I make to help people and families in crisis.”
