Charity riders appeal for backing

Two businessmen are set to cycle 300 miles in 24 hours in aid of three charities — Mansfield’s Fountaindale SEN School, Headway Nottingham and Headway UK – the brain injury association.

Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies owner Malk Hall and A Star Media director John Starkie will leave Newcastle at 11am on Saturday, 22nd August and aim to arrive in central London by 11am the following day.

They hope to raise more than £5,000 and are giving companies and individuals the opportunity to have a logo or name printed on their cycling jerseys for a minimum donation of £25.

Malk said: “A lot of training has gone into this challenge to get the body and mind ready for it. I have taken part in a Tough Guy and completed the Three Peaks Challenge, but this is the most daunting.”

Hall-Fast began its fundraising campaign almost three years ago, and hopes to have surpassed £60,000 for Fountaindale by the end of this year.

Anyone who would like to support them should send their company logo or name to [email protected] and make a donation at www.hall-fast.com/fountaindale-school/#.VZUy8BtViko
