Charity goal returns for footballing work colleagues

Posted onPosted on 9th Jan

Two friends and work colleagues are to host a charity football match for a third successive year.

Craig French and Russell Talbot, catering consultants at Full Circle Employment Agency, Mansfield, have raised thousands of pounds over the past two years through the Frenbot Mansfield Charity Football Match.

This year’s match — Frenbot v Once Upon A Smile, The Grudge Match Part II — will again take place at Forest Town Arena, on 13th June.

Among the causes being supported is Once Upon A Smile, which provide opportunities for children to understand and express their emotions during bereavement in a fun and safe environment.

The charity will be bringing celebrities from television to the event — including stars from X Factor, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale.

There will also be a mini fun fair, face painting, bouncy castle, food stalls and much more as well as the chance to meet celebrities, while Mansfield 103.2 will be broadcasting live.

The two men — described as ‘two local lads simply trying to make a difference’ — hope that a drum and bugle band will be playing while players make their way on to the pitch.

They have thanked AFC Mansfield FC for allowing the match to take place on its ground.

They are urging local business to help the fundraising by donating prizes for a raffle.

Admission is £3 — £10 for a family ticket for two adults and two children — and under-3s go free.

Raffle tickets priced £1 can be bought on the day. For more information and how to get involved, search for Frenbot Mansfield Charity Football Match 2020 on Facebook.
