Chance to design artwork for exterior of prominent building

Posted onPosted on 2nd Feb

Creative people are being urged to take part in a competition to give a striking new look to a disused office block that has been converted into apartments.

Holmes House, which was once home to the police in the 1970s, has been transformed into a three-floor residential space on Lime Tree Place, off Ratcliffe Gate.

Now developers Homes by Holmes are running a competition for residents to design artwork to be sprayed on the side of the building.

A spokesman said: “The site is in a prominent position and the winner’s artwork will be professionally sprayed on the gable end of the building.

“We are running the competition until the end of 28th February and the winner will be announced on 3rd March. It is a fantastic opportunity for local artists, or even someone with a creative imagination, to have their print on a highly visible and busy area of Mansfield.

“All submissions can be made to [email protected]

Holmes House includes 39 apartments – 27 two-bed and 12 one-bed living spaces. Work to convert the building started in January 2021 and was completed within 24 months.
