ATTFE College brought together more than 90 people from private, public, and voluntary sector organisations who are dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.
They shared an evening of celebration of the achievements of the Sutton-based college’s #InThisTogether Strategy (see article above), which was launched a year ago.
Key partners, including NHS Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Sherwood Observatory and Planetarium, and Fun Together Schools, shared presentations on the collaborative work accomplished over the past year.
A highlight of the evening, hosted at at Boughton Pumping House, was the recognition of outstanding contributions from people who have played a pivotal role in community projects.
These included Ken Mead (above) and Nick Mellors (pictured top interviewing Martin Rigley, of Discover Ashfield), honoured for their dedication to Takeover Radio, a community radio station in Ashfield that empowers young people by giving them a platform to share their voices.
The awards were presented by East Midlands Combined County Authority mayor Claire Ward. Attendees also heard from Mark Goldby, deputy lieutenant for Nottinghamshire, who spoke about The King’s Mission and its alignment with ATTFE College’s ongoing community efforts.
Guests were also treated to musical performances from 11-year-old Eden Holmes and Mansfield musician Wes Dolan.
College principal Liz Barrett said: “ATTFE College takes great pride in working with local stakeholders to maximize our impact in the community.
“Through our #InThisTogether Strategy, we are not only supporting education and skills development, but also promoting positive well-being, employment pathways, and volunteering opportunities.
“We thank our stakeholders for their ongoing support and shared commitment to our vision.”
