Celebrating apprentices

Forty one apprentices and their bosses attended a Success Now And The Next Step Conference at West Notts College.

The conference was an opportunity for Nottinghamshire County Council’s apprentices to hear more about the opportunities presented to them in securing future employment.

Leader of the council Alan Rhodes and chief executive Anthony May, pictured with apprentices, both attended.

Coun Rhodes said “I am extremely pleased that we are able to offer such opportunities to this many young people. I feel that you make a big difference to the council and I wish you every success for the future.”
The council employs 47 apprentices across many services and in previous years 152 two young people have been given the opportunity to work for the council.

Eighty per cent of the council’s apprentices have gone on to gain employment, and access further training or further education opportunities.
