Soroptimist Mansfield and District held their annual January quiz at the Oakham Suite, Mansfield.

The event raised more than £700 towards the two charities being supported by president Sue Manchester — the Eve Appeal and the Acoustic Neuroma Association.

The group thanked everyone who supported them at the quiz, saying: “It was great teamwork.”

Mansfield Soroptimist International have also presented Christine Conroy, services coordinator for Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid, with 18 full toilet bags, thanks to the generosity of club members who donated toiletries for each bag.

The contents of the bags were carefully chosen after discussions with the refuge.

Club member Pam Chadwick made all the bags from shower curtains.

The Soroptimists intend to continue their support for the refuge.
