Cancer charity’s thousands of thanks to Co-op shoppers

The Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group, which helps patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, has said a big thank you to shoppers and staff at the Stanton Hill Co-op.

Mark, one of the store’s management team, presented the charity with its share of the store’s Local Charitable Community Fund payout — £3,494.63.

A spokesman for the Amazons said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all the local Co op members who supported the Community Fund Scheme and assure them it will enable the refurbishment of soft furnishings in the Amazon Lounge in the Breast Care Unit at King’s Mill.

“This will, benefit local breast cancer patients. The lounge is used by patients who attend the Amazon Open Support Meetings every second Tuesday in the month (except August) and by breast care clinicians needing a more informal environment in which to consult with patients.

“The Amazons also want to say a big thank you to Tracey and Mark and all their Co-op staff, who have been so kind and considerate throughout this year — Stanton Hill is so lucky to have them!”
