Mansfield Building Society has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as its official charity partner after a vote by its staff.

Over the next two years, The Mansfield will be co-ordinating fundraising initiatives together with volunteer work to support the activity of Macmillan in Mansfield, Ashfield and Chesterfield.

Macmillan works not only with cancer patients by providing guidance, healthcare and financial support, but also those affected by cancer including family, carers and friends.

Gev Lynott, chief executive at the society, said: “We are proud to announce that the society has chosen to support Macmillan. The clear overwhelming support and commitment of staff demonstrates how strongly we feel about supporting those in our community affected by cancer.

“We believe passionately in delivering a positive social impact through our business and we are looking forward to supporting Macmillan in the coming years.”
