The Mansfield Building Society’s has awarded £620 to Headway Nottingham through its Community Support Scheme.
The funds were awarded towards the cost of providing 10 one-hour sessions of laughter therapy and positive thinking skills.
Headway Nottingham support people with brain injuries, their families and carers.
Michael Tansley Thomas, of Headway Nottingham, said: “One of the most challenging issues relating to brain injury is the loss of motivation and the frustration of being unable to communicate feelings and emotions effectively.
“These issues are addressed in the sessions with positive impact reducing social isolation, greater self expression and more ability to focus on a positive future.”
The Mansfield’s marketing co-ordinator, Mandy Whitten, said: “We are delighted to be able to help. Headway Nottingham provide much needed support for local people who have sustained brain injuries.”
