Blood pressure awareness day

Posted onPosted on 13th Jun

Kirkby Rotary Club held a free Know Your Blood Pressure Day event in the Market Place.
Of the 54 people tested, 46 were found to have normal readings and eight were referred to their doctors, one of them urgently.

It was part of Rotary’s annual stroke awareness campaign.

Two retired GPs, Rotarians Dr Karl White and Dr Koshe Matthew, carried out the blood pressure checks.

Rotarian Francis Newenham, Kirkby Rotary Club’s projects committee chairman, said: “This was a rewarding day for our club, and part of our commitment to supporting the community wherever we can. We are grateful to Ashfield District Council for the facilities they provided.”
