More than £4,000 has been raised for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice by the Wednesday Night Players at South Forest bingo in Edwinstowe.
The bingo group been sending £1,000 every six months for two years, providing vital funds for the hospice, based in North Anston, which has a highly specialised care team, offering care and support to children and their families both in the hospice and in their own homes across North Nottinghamshire.
John Green, bingo manager, said the Wednesday players were proud of their ongoing contribution to Bluebell Wood and that it was great knowing the proceeds were going to such a vital cause.
Russell Hall, fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We provide specialist care and support for more than 200 children and their families, both in our hospice and in the community.
“We’re extremely lucky to have so much support from people like John, who raise awareness of the work of our hospice, which is filled with love and laughter.
“It costs £3m a year to keep our doors open and we receive less than 10% government funding. Every penny raised makes a huge positive difference and I’d like to thank John Green and all the players at South Forest bingo for this fabulous support.”
