Bikers hit top gear for egg run

Posted onPosted on 5th Apr

Hundreds of bikers descended on Mansfield Fire Station for the 42nd Nottinghamshire Motorcycle Easter Egg Run.

Around 580 motorcyclists delivered 2,340 Easter eggs that were distributed to children’s centres, charities, hospitals, and care providers across the county.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service hosted the annual event for a 16th year and fire investigation dog handler Tim Marston said: “I’m thrilled with the turnout. The event always takes some organising, but it just shows the commitment people have to bringing some joy to our communities.

“Not only does the egg run give a massive boost to some of our county’s disadvantaged children, it also aims to promote safer motorbike riding.

“Thank you to everyone who supported us on the day — riders, volunteers, and Mansfield firefighters. See you all next year on 24th March!”

Riders set off from Forest Recreational Ground, Nottingham and made their way to Mansfield Fire Station, where they also had the opportunity to sign up to Biker Down courses.

Mansfield Fire Museum opened its doors to the public on the day.
