Big day out for little children as Funtopia visits twice

Posted onPosted on 12th Jun

Funtopia — a children’s festival billed as a big day out for little kids — is coming to the area for the first time.

The day-long extravaganza, which is specifically designed for under-10s, includes role-play areas, sumo suits, water fights, shows, giant inflatable games, character meet and greets, an under-5s area, high-energy inflatables, and more.

New attractions for 2023 include a Baby Zone, giant 110ft obstacle course, and a Fun Farm role-play area where children can run their own farm.

Funtopia is all-inclusive, though some activities have height/age restrictions.

It will be at The Carrs, Warsop, on Sunday, 23rd July, and at Teversal Trail Visitor Centre on 1st September, from 11.30am to 5.30pm. Admission is free for under-90cms, £10 for over-90cms, and £2.50 for adults.

Autism-friendly sessions will run from 10.30am to 11.30am. Numbers are limited and tickets can be bought at funtopiauk.eventbrite.com.

Sarah Green, Funtopia director, said: “We know how hard it can be for families to afford a day out. Therefore, this year we have decided not to feature any additional pay-per-go rides or game stalls. Once you have paid to enter Funtopia, all the activities are included in the price.”

Event manager Sam Harrison added: “We’re pleased to be offering autism-friendly sessions at every Funtopia this year.

“These are specifically designed to allow children with autism the opportunity to visit Funtopia in a more relaxed and suitable setting.”

Visitors are encouraged to join in a giant Picnic In The Park.

All tickets are bought on the gate, apart from the autism-friendly sessions. Sales open at 10am every event day.
