ATTFE college and charity brighten up Easter

Posted onPosted on 21st Apr

Volunteers joined Ashfield charity Let’s All Eat and Sutton-based ATTFE College on Good Friday to support delivering 700 chef-cooked Easter dinners to food parcel recipients in Sutton.

Chef Dave Marshall, of Porterhouse Barlows, Annesley Woodhouse, gave up his time to cook the dinners and Scot Barlow, of Barlows butchers, Kirkby, funded the meat for the meals.

Portland College, Ashfield District Council and community members also donated around 600 Easter eggs that were distributed.

Liz Barrett, Let’s All Eat volunteer director, said: “This was another humbling community Easter effort with lots of volunteers turning up to help deliver the dinners and Easter eggs.

“As well as ensuring that people received food over the Easter weekend, we demonstrated yet again what community spirit can achieve.

“In these challenging Covid-19 times it is more important than ever to ensure that all members of our community are cared for and supported. Many thanks to everyone who gave their time on Good Friday to support this initiative, we very much appreciate you.”
