Documentaries about famous artists are to be screened at Mansfield Museum as part of a new Arts Council-funded programme.
Exhibitions on Screen will include interviews, insights from leading historians and arts critics, and up-close encounters with the world’s most iconic exhibitions and artists.
Sian Booth, Cultural Services manager, said: “We can grant you exclusive access to paintings you thought you knew — think of us like a digital tour guide, full of little gems and nuggets that help you see and think about art in new ways.”
The programme begins on Friday, 22nd September, with Cezanne: Portraits of a Life, narrated by actor Brian Cox. Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne played a major role in 20th Century art.
The subjects of future films include Mary Cassatt and Edward Hopper.
All screenings will take place in Mansfield Museum from 1pm. Tickets cost £10.50, including unlimited tea and coffee. You can book via the Palace Theatre box office team online at mansfieldpalace.co.uk or by telephone on 01623 463133.
