A graduation day was held for pupils at a Mansfield primary school who spent the last year learning about the police.

Officers from the neighbourhood policing team, alongside Mansfield District Council neighbourhood wardens, visited schools to give insight into their work.

More than 20 pupils in year 5 at Wainwright Academy took part in the Mini Police scheme throughout and were involved in several activities, including helping officers at the

Nottingham Marathon to hand out medals and water to runners, and joining in a Christmas Carols service in the town centre.

They also designed their own safer towns, visited Mansfield Fire Station, and learned the importance of water safety, online safety, and the dangers of vaping.

Officers held a graduation ceremony for the class, with youngsters receiving a certificate.
