Edwinstowe-based Woodhead Group has announced three appointments — Samantha Sargent as finance director, Alistair Taylor as associate director of operations and Chris Tutin as associate director of commercial.

Samantha has taken over from Hilary Cheshire, who will remain an active shareholder in the family business, having first joined in 1982 as finance manager.

After spending the past eight years with the Woodhead Group, she said: “I am excited about grasping the opportunities and rising to the challenges ahead. Hilary has been a fantastic colleague, coach and mentor to work with and has helped me to grow in order to take on this brilliant role.”

Alistair has been with the Woodhead Group for 10 years, graduating in 2009 after completing his second degree in property development and construction. He started with the company as a trainee QS/estimator.

Chris joined the group in 2014 as a quantity surveyor.

The three promotions came as the group revealed a strong forward order book of construction work secured for 2020, including the Northern Gateway Enterprise Centre for Chesterfield Borough Council and a place on the £340m EN:Procure Framework.
