Appeal for help to trace pet Japanese Akita

A Mansfield family are appealing for help after their pet Japanese Akita, Budo, went missing from their secure back garden.

Fourteen-month-old Budo (pictured) was taken from St John’s Place, Mansfield, on Friday, 5th February, between 3pm and 5pm.

The family said police, dog wardens and vets have been informed as well as a microchip company. They believe the dog was stolen because their garden was secure.

They have also set up a Facebook page – “Help find Budo” – in their bid to find their pet.

Budo is a long-haired Akita, which is unusual and makes him very distinctive. The family said he was very gentle natured and “a big softie who will be missing his home comforts.”
