A disorganised but lovable angel who is chosen to show the way to Bethlehem stole the show at this year’s Alphabet House Day Nursery White Post Christmas play.
Three-year-old Amelia Hope, from Farnsfield, performed the leading role in the nursery’s Christmas play, called Whoops-a-Daisy-Ange’. The Christmas cast, comprising nursery and pre-school children aged from three to five, played to a packed audience of family and friends.
Gayle Hodgkinson, nursery manager, said: “Christmas is a very special time for everyone at Alphabet House and we’re so pleased that we were able to put on a wonderful performance for the children’s parents.
“The children have been working very hard on this play since the beginning of November – I know the songs off-by-heart and I’m fairly certain I’ve been singing them in my sleep!”
Amelia’s mum, Jennifer, said: “Amelia just loved playing Whoops-a-Daisy-Angel. She has been so excited. As you can imagine, we were very proud of her and all of the children who took part. It’s quite an achievement to stand up on stage in front of a room full of adults – I’m not sure I’d want to do it!”
