An eco-friendly school

Oak Tree Primary School in Mansfield has been presented with a cheque for £108.96 from its first EcoKids clothing collection.

The school worked with Boots UK to gather clothing and other items, which EcoKids collected and weighed. The school said it decided to work with EcoKids because it offered a generous exchange rate for items.

The Boots property and group procurement team at Nottingham agreed to help the school collect clothing as part of the company’s help with the school’s grounds development and energy management.

It was part of a package of support from Boots UK’s corporate social responsibility agenda, which has helped the school look at its energy usage.

Head Mrs Sarah Moore said: “We are proud that Boots UK chose to support our school as an ongoing partnership. They have supported us in so many ways over the past few years, such as helping with our school library development, and the energy management team has been a key part of this support.”

The cheque for £108 will help school buy a polytunnel to use in growing fruit, vegetables and flowers as it works towards an ECO Green Flag Award.
