A charity that supports King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton; Mansfield Community Hospital; and Newark Hospital received a £2,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre team in Sutton.

It was the second donation made to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity by the fulfilment centre in 2021, following an earlier donation of £1,000.

The charity supports patients, their families and visitors.

Georgia Akuwudike, general manager at Amazon, Sutton, said: “We are pleased to support Sherwood Forest Hospital’s Charity. The charity is based just five minutes from our fulfilment centre, so we wanted to continue our support.”

Shirley Higginbotham, director of corporate services for the charity, added: “We thank Georgia and the team for this donation and their continued support.

“Through the donations received from Amazon, we have been able to help even more patients and their families in our community during difficult times.”

Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support communities around its operating locations across the UK.
