Amazon in Sutton is partnering with Nottinghamshire Police to provide free weekly sports sessions for youngsters aged 8-18.

The Operation Reacher Project, which takes place at West Nottinghamshire College, Mansfield, was featured in the News Journal in 2022. It encourages young people to become involved in sport to build community relations.

Amazon has donated sporting equipment for children to use during the sessions, including bibs, footballs, and kits.

Sean Clarke, who works at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Sutton and helped to organise the partnership, said: “We are looking forward to building our relationship with Nottinghamshire Police and West Notts College and offering lots of exciting sports sessions to young people in our community.”

Vivek Khanka, general manager, added that Amazon was pleased to support the project in aid of building a stronger community and promoting exercise and teamwork among young people.
